Have you heard of the golden rule?
“Do to others what you would have them do to you”.
Well, I love a good laugh, so the golden rule for me is about giving people moments of joy and laughter through my writing. It’s fair to say the first manuscripts I wrote brought on more tears (at the quality) than laughter.
Then I picked up a copy of David Nicholls’ Starter for Ten. Within the very first pages, I was laughing out loud on the train; something I generally avoid because it’s embarrassing and unbecoming. But I couldn’t help it. That’s when I decided I also wanted to embarrass people on public transport.
I hope you enjoy Barney’s antics in The Chronicles of Barnia and Barney: A novel (about a guy called Barney).
I’d love to hear from you if the stories make you smile (not so much if they don’t). You can email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
